Intuitive Fight

intuitive wolf

The dull and edgy knife

weighs heavy on my skin

waiting to pierce through

and let the pain seep in

The wolf is snarling, baring teeth

so rip me open, let me bleed

break my ribs and cut my heart

let the wolf inside me feed

The metal is cold and it stings

dripped in fear and dread

the lies begin their singing

leaving songs stuck in my head

Like what about this feeling –

that I’m never good enough?

It’s her voice that kills me

why the waves are always rough

Can I wash this out with water?

Is it always in the blood?

Who is going to save me

from the waves of the coming flood?

An exceptional poem, Kristian! It cuts to the soul and leaves a stain in indelible ink. Love the title and the picture was made for this poem. This is you speaking in your clearest and strongest voice, where the beauty within is potent and inescapable. Well written, my dear friend!

Thank you so much, my friend! I fell in love with that picture a long time ago and recently stumbled upon it again. I knew I had to use it. I feel like the artist had me in mind when he or she drew it. Thanks for the play on words idea, it really helped me come up with the title!

Your support and friendship mean the world to me. You’re the best! ❤
