Yesterday was the last day for VITA!! I love my volunteers and I actually enjoy spending time with them, we try to make the best of a stressful volunteer program, but I am so ready for it to be over!!
Last week while greeting clients and filling out some information with them a little boy came into the tax prep site with his parents. His mom went back to have her taxes filed, while the dad stayed out in the waiting area with his boy, who I learned was 3-years-old. His father took him to the bathroom, and when he came back this adorable, little boy walked around to everyone, giving all of us high fives, and exclaiming “I went potty!” I chuckled at the little boys enthusiasm, but what I loved even more was that everyone in the waiting area praised the child with “Way to go buddy” and “Woohoo!” It made my heart so happy. I was talking to my friend Christen about it, when did we lose that enthusiasm as adults? Just think of how happy we would all be if we cheered one another on for making it through another work day, or completing a complicated task!
Earrings and Snail Mail
My bestie in Arizona (Christen,) has started making earrings, and let me just tell you, this woman is EXTREMELY talented. She puts a lot of time and effort into these earrings, and they are made with real stones, beads, and metals. She doesn’t just slap them together with cheap materials, she personally hand selects each bead, stone, and charm, and she hand makes each earring. It shows and her earrings are as good if not better than Silpada. If any of you are interested, please let me know. I will hook you up. These are the earrings I purchased, and I absolutely love them!!
I made some fun snail mail to send my pen pals. I made some mini bookmarks, magnets, and various other items to send out, and I was pleased to find out that they all loved them!!
Much to my surprise, Christen also sent me a care package, and it couldn’t have come at a better time! Filled with tea, a fun tea infuser, lavender essential oil, a candle, and some fun items, it was just what I needed to cure my stress! I love that girl!!
Currently I am working on some fun mail to send out to my pen pals for Easter!!
I haven’t been as productive on the Spring cleaning this weekend as I hoped, but tomorrow is the start of a new day and a new week!
I spent a good bit of time talking to my daddy today, and we made plans for Easter dinner, and I’m looking forward to spending some time with him next Sunday!!
Things are finally looking up!! Please keep praying that everything goes well with our house. I have been dreaming of Christmases next to a fire place, a spacious kitchen where I can cook and bake with friends, a craft room that I can leave as messy as I want while I’m working on projects because it’s my area, and storage space!! Oh my goodness, this girl would be heaven. Our house would literally be my own little oasis, but as I said before, the house we have now is literally falling a part, so this isn’t just a want, it is a need.
In the meantime, I’ll continue dreaming……
Love & life lessons,
Kristian
