Humanity UnKind

Wildfires of hate spread

Waiting for Christ’s return

Clutching Bibles to chests

Smiling as they watch it all burn

~ ~ ~

Ashes raining in oceans

Droughts swimming through plains

Another day another mass shooting

Darkness spreading through my veins

~ ~ ~

And I have become

Prisoner to my mind

Left my shackled self behind

Watching the blind lead the blind

On my journey to find

Faith in humanity unkind

~ ~ ~

The Garden of Eden

No longer simple or pure

Greedy hands keep stretching

Always asking for more

~ ~ ~

Fascinated by insanity

We stand idly by

Calling murderers heroes

Ignoring the children’s cries

~ ~ ~

And I have become

Prisoner to my mind

Left my shackled self behind

Watching the blind lead the blind

On my journey to find

Faith in humanity unkind

~ ~ ~

Those in power

Try to rewrite history

Lessons we never learned

Keep repeating the same old mystery

~ ~ ~

Innocence dies

And justice is naught

For the lives that were lost

When hatred was fought

~ ~ ~

And I have become

Prisoner to my mind

Left it all behind

Watching the blind follow the blind

Struggling so hard to find

Faith in humanity unkind

This is truly painful, because it is so true. We who are awaiting Christ’s return should not be spreading “wildfires of hate.” Rather, we should be spreading waves of love and compassion. It hurts my soul, every day to see the horrific actions carried out by people who claim to be following Jesus.

Excellent treatise on humanities inhumanity. Interestingly, although this was meant for Christianity, it can easily fit right in with neo-liberalism.

Thank you! It was meant for extremists of all parties and religions, anyone who fails to see the human spirit in another person, people who want to ban books but will fight to the death to purchase assault rifles, and those who look at the issues but fail to comply with what is best for the majority because it does not fit their selfish beliefs.

I agree. One of those beliefs is the open borders one. Is that belief worth the 109,000 fentanyl overdose deaths each year?

At any rate your point is well taken, but there is plenty to complain about on both sides.
