The Man I Love

If ever you should meet my hero, the keeper of my heart

He will tell you he is full of faults, a sorrow that will not depart.

But if there is anything you should understand about this man I love

Is that the strives he makes to right his sins go far beyond and above.

He will tell you he exudes his best for your eyes to see

But what lies within his darkness and sin is the very heart of me.

If ever you should meet my heart, the keeper of my soul

Crazy am I, you might believe, for loving a man who is not whole.

But if there is anything you should understand about this love of mine

Is that even his darkness holds some light, and I cannot resist its shine.

He will tell you I am crazy for loving him just as he is

But it was written in the stars, my destiny, to play the role of his.

>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<

If ever you should meet my man, the keeper of my thoughts

Try as you might, you will never know the extent of his battles fought.

He will tell you I want to fix him; mend all his broken pieces

And cleanse the sins that stain his soul, hanging on like starving leeches.

But if there is anything he should understand it is that his evil does not scare me

And all I want is to show him a softness the world provides so rarely.

  1. Oh, oh my… These are words of true and deep love, and lucky the man for whom they were penned. While reading them, once or twice I pondered why most of us seem unable to love our own selves as equally.

Hello dear Kristian. When the love feels good, when two people like each other. Best days of our life. A amazing poem.
