Fever Induced Dreams

Not this past Friday, but the Friday before, I tested positive for Covid. I feel much better, but I’m still not 100% over it. That Friday night and the following Saturday were the worst of it.

Do you know those cartoons where a character falls down a cliff of very sharp and jagged rocks only to land on the road, get run over by a truck, stand up, and get hit by another car going the opposite direction? Well, I imagine that’s what it felt like. I was in so much pain I could barely move.

That Saturday, I could not get my fever to break, and since pretty much all I did was sleep, I had several fever-induced dreams. Now, my brain often comes up with strange and unusual dreams, but at least this time, I had a fever I could blame for them!

The first dream I recall was going down a 20-foot slide with Henry Cavill. I did not dream about climbing the ladder to get to the top of that slide, but I can imagine I started complaining around the 5-foot mark. Please don’t be disappointed in me, Henry! We were sitting on the slide, I was between his legs, and I couldn’t stop commenting on the size of his thighs. Haha! I mean, have you seen Henry Cavill’s thighs? He’s a big dude!

I remember leaning back into Henry and enjoying the feel of the wind in my hair. We both laughed, and he held onto me the entire ride! I’m pretty sure I woke with a smile on my face. I’m sure it was the fever and nothing else. Haha!

The second dream included another handsome actor, but there was much less physical contact. I was in the kitchen, baking biscuits with Johnny Depp! I actually really want to do this! None of you know him personally, do you?

Johnny, if you read this (cause, ya know, my blog is that popular), will you bake biscuits with me?

We listened to Led Zeppelin while we slung biscuit dough, and I kept sliding around the floor in my sock-clad feet, and Johnny kept throwing flour in my hair. We had the best time!

I had many dreams during my delirious fevered state, including some very x-rated dreams (not including Henry or Johnny) and getting chased by a fire-breathing frog! However, the dream that stands out the most was the one I had about my late mother.

We were sitting on a bench next to a weeping willow, and she grabbed my hand and looked me in the eye. I remember every detail of this dream like it actually happened, perhaps because this one felt the most realistic out of all the dreams. She told me that I was on the right path in life and that things were about to get really, really hard, but I would overcome them like I always do, and the life that is waiting for me on the other side of my trials is far better than anything I could imagine. She told me to keep moving and trusting my instincts, and I woke with another smile on my face; this time, it wasn’t the fever!

Do you have any interesting or inspiring dreams to share? Have you had Covid?

Love & life lessons,

Kristian

I had what I presume was covid in May 2022. (Never got tested – just self-quarantined) The fever and pain only lasted a day or two, but the light headedness and exhaustion lasted at least a week, then the congestion started. It took about two weeks before I felt good again. Hope you feel better soon.

I’m getting there. Rest is pretty much all I do, much to my chagrin. I like doing nothing on my terms, but I loathe it when I’m forced. Ha! I learned a long time ago to listen to my body, though. I give it what it needs. Thank you, my dear friend! ❤

Sorry you went through that (not the dreams) and glad you are feeling better. As far as I know, I am a “No-vid.” I did have some pretty serious allergies, last year, for about a week, but have never tested positive for Covid. I’m a little jealous that you got to go down a slide with The Witcher (or was he Superman?) and bake biscuits (it took me five tries to spell that right!) with Captain Jack.

The most vivid dream I can remember is one where I, in my dream, literally lost our daughter. It was a horrible feeling when I woke up. The dream about your mother is very nice. I wish that I had dreams about my late father, but, as far as I can remember, I have not.

Thank you! I hope you don’t get it. It’s the worst I have ever felt, at one point, I wondered if it was going to take me out. I considered making a list of end of life wishes. He wasn’t dressed as Superman or the Witcher, but Henry can wear whatever he wants and I won’t complain! Haha. Baking biscuits with Johnny Depp was so much fun!!

That would be a horrible dream. I’ve had some pretty vivid nightmares, too.

When my mom died, I dreamt about her a lot in the following months. Now that almost 7 years have passed, (the anniversary is December 26th), I don’t dream about her as often anymore, but I’m always filled with comfort when I do. I hope you dream of your late father.

  9. Wow Kristian, people pay good money to get the dreams you got for free, well covid aside of course. I got a light case of covid this year, a bad case of it last year [except l didn’t know until after it was over hahaha typical my life] and no weird dreams, but of late l have been experiencing some great dreams.

Glad you are over it now 🙂

Wow: Henry and Johnny. You think I’M obsessed (with horror movies)?! Glad you’re feeling better. I had some wild dreams while positive for COVID too. What’s your thought on Henry leaving The Witcher?

  11. Awww, I was saddened to hear that you are having a battle with that nasty virus! I suppose it is, however, proof, that bad things happen to good people. I’ve often wondered if our bodies send some subconscious message to our brains that we need to slow down a bit and that’s why some of us have more lasting symptoms and effects of illnesses than others? And the dream of your dear mother was something I’m glad you got to experience. I dream a lot, remember many of them for a minute or two upon awakening, and have a few I’ve remembered for the long term. I often dream about people I know or have known in similar but yet not the same settings in which I knew them. Oh, and if Johnny Depp shows up here by accident, I’ll contact you for the correct directions to get him to your place. I will just come along to munch on some of those fresh-baked biscuits and laugh at your antics!

Please, please, listen carefully to your body so that you can heal completely!

Thank you, my friend!! ❤ I am feeling much better now! Still not quite 100% back to my old self, but I am listening to my body and giving it rest when it needs. Balance seems to be a hard trait for me to master sometimes, but I am striving for it.

I keep a dream journal because sometimes my dreams are so obscure, they need to be put in a story. I will get around to sharing some of them one day. I think you and I would have a blast together in the kitchen. With or without Johnny! Haha!!

      I hope you are well!
