Breathless

Come here

and let me take off your clothes

and strip you of the worries

from the day.

***

Come here

and let me wrap my arms around your shoulders

and bring you close enough to show you

that every ounce of me

every strand of hair

every crevice

every curve

belongs to you.

***

Come here

and let me kiss you

I want to fill your mouth

and mind

and heart

with all the reasons why you belong to me.

But mostly…

why you will never want to belong

to anyone else.

***

Come here

and let me run my fingernails down your back

and draw a map of all the places you take me

I want my ears filled with your moans

reminding me that I just want to stay high

with you…

and on our laughter.

***

And when I whisper, “I love you”

it could never be in secrecy

never secrecy

but rather in the certainty

the certainty that you steal my voice

and leave me breathless…

Come here.

Beautifully written! It makes me want to fall in love and I’m not one to do that often. Ha. Excellent work as always!

    shame no blame
    all the same
    is how i am
    like you?
    nope
    i cope
    somehow
    know the feeling
    rash lathered
    and hot bothered as well
    do tell!

Wonderful and kind poetry dear Kristian. The below lines, we do need.
    “Come here
and let me take off your clothes
and strip you of the worries
    from the day.”
The mercy of the caress of kindness. We need.
