Sinister Eyes

You took the knife,

stabbing my heart.

You bruised my skin,

you left your mark.

Yet, here you come

with your sinister eyes.

As if some new man,

you’re the devil in disguise.

You expect me to bend

and to mold to your ways.

To conform to your charms,

but I won’t drown in your waves.

I’ll always be

just a trophy to you.

A notch on your bedpost

I didn’t consent to.

It’s partly my fault,

I take half the blame.

I let you in,

I whispered your name.

But you can’t take my spirit,

my flame, nor my drive.

There is no longer fear

behind these blue eyes.

How does it feel now

you want to slither back in?

But you no longer phase me,

you can’t break through my skin.

Go on, walk on home boy,

and carry your strife.

And never forget…

I now carry the knife!

I want to comfort you, but my words seem to fall so short. I can tell you that you are not to blame. But you have to believe that for yourself. Remember your strength, my dear friend!

I wrote this a while ago, but felt the need to share it again. The guilt of ignoring the red flags ebbs and flows, but I now know what not to do. Your words, and the knowledge that I can come to you with anything are a great comfort to me. Thank you, my dear friend. ❤

  3. Always remember we are the ones that give the power to our bad yesterdays. When we let it go and move on, there is no need to let it bring us down. You have moved on Madam k, you are stronger, whilst this was written some time ago, don’t let the darkness linger 🙂

Some men can hide who they are very well. We have all been fouled by at least one. Blessings to you my friend. 🦋
