Spring is Coming

these dark and dusty
cutthroat mornings
are fading
as the sunlight filters
through the blinds
kissing my clavicle
i lower my blankets
reveling in the warmth
of nature’s furnace
upon my breasts
i smile a genuine smile
the songbirds sing
good morning
and i hum them a tune
can you feel it?
Spring is coming

I will admit I got stuck in the imagery of you bathed in morning light for a bit, but I broke free in time to share your wish for the coming spring! Beautifully written. You haven’t lost your touch!

Yes, absolutely! I feel like the difference in seasons is even more profound with the pandemic still going on. The coming of spring feels like such a breath of fresh air. I’m so excited to see the sun shining down, hear critters scurrying around, and feel the soft breeze. ✨🌞 You’re so very welcome! 💕
