I think the thing I like the most about horror and gore is that it shows us it’s okay to be afraid, but being afraid doesn’t mean we have to cower. Being afraid and pushing through anyway only makes us stronger. I think I like horror movies because fear is so relatable. It’s not some facade trying to fool us, it’s raw and real, and not very pretty.
Kristian’s 28th underrated movie is:
Feast (2005) Directed by John Gulager
This is your typical gory horror movie, in fact, there is lots of gore. The movie is always quite comical. A few patrons are stuck in a bar and they have to fight monsters. I know that doesn’t sound very exciting, and I’m not going to lie, this isn’t the greatest horror movie of all time, and it is not very original.
But as far as horror flicks go, that’s kind of part of its charm. Plus, the gore and special effects are great!
No recommendations to pair with this one. Eat some popcorn out of a bowl in the shape of a skull.
Have you seen Feast? Did you enjoy it? What movie(s) do you recommend?
Love & life lessons,
Kristian
Have not seen it but did see a good one last night called “Apostle”

Yes! Another one I saw last week was “Deliver us from Evil” which was also good…an exorcism on steroids!

The executive producers of the movie reads like a “Who’s Who” of Hollywood talent. And your perspective of fear meshes with my experiences in life. Well written! Much Love!

Well, I for one won’t be disappointed if you decide to do a review before October! I should go back through your list from last year. I’ve been itching to watch a good horror flick myself.

Also, try The Pact (2012) – It mixes the supernatural with a concrete, horrific surprise!

So, Kristian, I had seen Feast before! I just forgot the title, but there were images of monsters coming through isolated tavern windows in my head forever, and I always wondered what movie it was from. I even rewatched Grindhouse, thinking that was the movie. You solved my puzzle! (And, yes, I couldn’t help it – a horror movie before October).
