For Amanda, Distance Means Nothing

amanda & me

So peculiar and majestic

this special bond we share

no red ribbon to bind us

no reason to have to care.

Cut from branches

from different trees

but looking at you,

my reflection’s looking back at me.

Soul mates, not lovers

people confuse the two,

then again, I don’t think everyone

shares what we do.

Sisters cut

from different genes

books and dancing

stiched in our seams.

So much laughter and coffee

shared through the years

deep conversations and heart-to-hearts

shared with wine spilled tears.

You have seen my dark

and call me angel still

far from it, my friend

but I’ll drink to that, still.

Distance means nothing

when we share the same soul

always together,

despite the 551 mile long pole.

For my soul sister, who is moving away. ❤

I agree. Thank you for the internet and new phones. We can stay friends, far from each other. I wish when I was traveling in the seventies, we had more than letters. Thank you for sharing your amazing words and thoughts. Be careful and be safe.

Touching and beautiful! Full of serious heart squeezes and I am sure she will feel every one of them always!
