Originally, I was going to review an underrated horror movie, but I will have to save that for another day.
You see, I’m a romantic through and through. I have many layers, many, many, layers, it takes years to get to know me. Just ask my friend, Amanda, she’s known me for 23 years and she’s still learning; but at the core of every single layer is love. I’m full of it, but I get that from my father.
I watched a movie for the first time, and I decided to write about it because up until last week, I hadn’t even heard of it.
Kristian’s 4th underrated movie is:
Forget Paris (1995) Directed by Billy Crystal
First of all, I love Billy Crystal, he is so funny, and y’all know my weakness for funny guys.
Secondly, I was hooked by the first song. If you ever want to woo me, you’ll win me over by playing Billie Holiday.
Mickey, a basketball referee, (who makes me feel bad for ever yelling at the refs during a sports game. Bad enough to stop? Probably not. HA! What can I say? I’m passionate!) who flies to Paris to bury his father and meets and falls in love with Ellen, who works for the airport in Paris.
Mickey & Ellen’s relationship is narrated by Mickey’s best friend, Andy. We learn of all of the hardships Mickey and Ellen face throughout the course of their relationship, some of which had me falling to the floor with gut wrenching laughter, others left me placing my hands over my heart while tears fell from my eyes. I’m a sucker for the over the top, cheesy romance lines. Oh my gosh, it turns me to jelly. Haha!
Anyway, if you’re looking for another heart squeezing, warm fuzzy, romantic film, look no further than Forget Paris.
I recommend pairing this movie with a thick, robust wine, Cabernet Sauvignon is my favorite, and chocolate covered strawberries.
And just for good measure, here’s some Billie Holiday!
Have you seen Forget Paris? What are your thoughts? What underrated movie to you recommend? I would love to read your thoughts!
Love & life lessons,
Kristian
So Eleanora Fagan holds the keys to your heart? Good to know! β€π₯°π

There’s more!?! You and your darn layers. You are like a fluffy onion!

Oh my, yes! I’m not very hard to please. I like many, many things. Can I be a layered cake? Cake is much sweeter (and tastier) than an onion. Then again, Pablo Neruda wrote an ode to an onion….
Has anyone ever written an ode to a cake?

Yeah, the layer cake thing is a much more appealing metaphor. However, it will have to be one hell of a cake! I started to write an ode to cake, but was easily seduced and ate the cake instead. π
