30 Underrated Movies, Day 2

yes

I don’t know who Becky G is, but I completely agree with her!!

Many of you know I love to cook and bake, and today’s movie choice highlights the art of cooking.

Kristian’s 2nd choice of Underrated movies is:

Chef (2014) Directed by Jon Favreau

chef

I have two words for you:

Food Porn!

Okay two more words:

Cuban Sandwich!

This film was not only written and directed by Jon Favreau, he also stars in it, but this movie left me with a new found appreciation for the man. Jon plays a high end chef who leaves his restaurant and starts a food truck while trying to piece together the broken pieces of his estranged family.

His passion for cooking really shines in this movie, he even makes creating a grilled cheese sandwich look like an art. After watching this movie, I found myself wanting to run out to the store and buy fresh ingredients, search for different spices I have never cooked with, and make something incredible.

This movie has it all, excellent acting, dialogue, and drama. The story line hooks you and even the soundtrack is amazing. It’s a very well done movie and I’m not sure why it isn’t highlighted more. I’ll be honest, I hadn’t even heard of this movie until late last year, and now that I’m writing about it, I want to go watch it again.

I love when movies have a long lasting impact, and this one definitely did. It is a new favorite, for sure! I still have this burning desire to cook gourmet meals that will leave everyone I cook for speechless. You know you’ve cooked a fantastic meal when no one at the table is talking because they just can’t get enough of the food. Whenever I cook, I put my heart into the dish, so if I ever invite you over to my house for dinner or send you cookies in the mail, just know that it was done with all of the love I could possibly muster.

If you haven’t seen this movie yet, I believe it is still available on Netflix, and if not, I’m sure you can find it on Amazon Prime.

I recommend pairing this movie with a plate of spaghetti and a glass of Pinot Noir.

Enjoy!

Have you seen Chef? What movie(s) do you consider to be underrated? I would love to read your thoughts!

Love & life lessons,

Kristian
