Happy Friday Everyone!
I have decided to bring back Friday Favorites! This time of year tends to really get me down. The holidays are over, tax season is upon us, and for those of you who don’t know, I run a free, volunteer tax preparation site, known as VITA. I am excited to see my volunteers again, however; this time of year really stresses me out because I run this site on top of my regular job, and running a tax site could be an entire job all on its own!
Thank you in advance for the people who check up on me through the months of January through April, I had quite a few last year reach out to make sure I was okay. Even some local friends stopped by with London Fogs & Caramel lattes (my favorites) which was very sweet & much appreciated!
Anyway, I’m getting a little off track. I suffer from seasonal depression disorder, and I’m hoping that sharing the things I’m grateful for every week will help me out of my funk. I struggled through the holidays, but I am feeling better. I’m hoping to try and stay above the darkness, I hate the feelings of just going through the motions.
So let’s get started, shall we?
At the end of every year Spotify creates a playlist of the songs I listened to the most. I am loving my 2019 playlist, hopefully; you will enjoy it too!
My Favorite Podcast’s!

- Jeopardy! The Greatest Of All Time
I cannot wait to see James, Ken, & Brad battle it out!! I am so excited for this!!
Jeopardy’s Greatest of All Time Battle
- The Return of This Is Us
Return Date January 14th, 2020
- Pen pal crafts!
I ordered some new crafts to start my pen paling for the year off right. They are expected to arrive Saturday, and I cannot wait to get started! One of my goals for this year is to send something to my pen pals every single month, even if it’s just a card. I sometimes get discouraged because I don’t always have to the time to sit down and craft like I want to, but just a card is enough to let them know I’m thinking about them. I also plan to craft in my spare time, so I have things done ahead of time. Hopefully I can stick with that plan!
Feel free to share some of your favorite things with me in the comments. Tell me, what are you looking forward to in the coming weeks?
Let’s chat. I’d love to hear from you!!
Love & life lessons,
Kristian
I’ve become an addict of the London Fog…
It’s really just like a rolling fog… since I began drinking it, I’ve got 2 other people addicted…

I agree! It’s a wonderful treat, especially on a rainy afternoon! Something about it just lifts my spirits. That combination of bergamot, lavender, and steamed milk just does something for the soul! It’s SO good!!!

Lol. Then that’s not a London Fog, sorry my friend. A London fog is earl grey tea, lavender, and steamed milk.

No… it is an Eclectic Contrarian London Fog. A delicious no frills beverage that still tantalizes the taste buds…

I’ve had some seasonal depression myself. God, it is the worst. I hope you get out of it. I think I’m pretty much over mine as well. I try to keep my life very positive and I focus on the lighter side always these days. That helps out a lot. I’ve also started drinking coffee. I read where coffee drinkers and less likely to be depressed. I think it’s working. Usually after coffee, I am anything but depressed. I enjoy your blog and look forward to futue posts. You rock and happy 2020!

I drink A LOT of coffee. Lol. I think part of it is I live in an area where a lot of winters last six months (October to April) & I start to miss the sun & being outdoors. So far winter hasn’t been too bad. My depression usually hits around the end of February, but like you, I try to focus on the little things & get a positive outlook & it does help. But it is hard sometimes when everything is gloomy, dead, & bitterly cold. I do feel good after a cup of coffee though, it warms the soul! Thank you so much, Parker! I really enjoy your blog as well. I’m not sure if you saw, my pingbacks don’t always work, but I nominated you for an award. No pressure to participate, I just wanted to shine some light on your blog! Happy 2020!! 🙏

I want to get back into handwriting, like your pen pals. I tried hand writing some letters this year for Christmas cards and it occurred me to that I don’t know when I remember hand writing even a list, lol.
