Thanks, Trent! Please take a moment to check out his fabulous blog, and maybe consider joining in on the weekly smile, because we can all use more smiles in today’s world!
The Weekly Smile for the 18th of November, 2019 #weeklysmile
So what made me smile? Well, lot’s of things, so let’s just dive right in!!
I knew that this past weekend my husband was taking me to Pittsburgh to celebrate my 35th birthday, but I had no idea what we we’re going to be doing, all I knew was that I was to bring a dress and that I would be marking at least a couple of items off of my bucket list. I had no idea how many surprises were in store for me.
Before we left I got my hair cut, did my nails, and bought a brand new pair of heels for the trip! At the time, I had no idea how much pampering would really be involved, but I love surprises, so that alone had me smiling all week!
We pulled up to this very large, very fancy hotel. There was a man waiting to park our car and another man came out to take our luggage. He wished me a happy birthday, told me I didn’t look a day over 21, (he was quite the charmer) and told everyone we passed that I was the birthday girl!!
When we got to our room Neil presented me with a note:
A handful of family members pitched in to give me this elaborate birthday surprise, and boy, was I surprised!!
The hotel was beautiful and even more remarkable, it had a gorgeous view of the city!
Surprise number 2:
Breakfast in bed!!
Neil ordered us a “breakfast in bed package” and on Saturday morning they brought it right up to our room!
He had two more surprises planned for Saturday, and this is why I needed the dress. He made reservations at Valozzi’s, which is a very upscale Italian restaurant, so I got dressed up and even put on lipstick, which I only wear on special occasions, or when I feel like getting really dolled up, which doesn’t happen very often.
This restaurant is now one of my favorites, and my meal was divine!!
We headed back to the hotel after dinner for my 4th surprise.
After dinner drinks and listening to a jazz band in the lobby!
Sunday was the big and final surprise!!
We went to see the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra perform with a Beatles Cover band, and they played 3 of my favorite Beatles songs!! It was awesome!!
So far the 6 days of being 35 have treated me very kindly! Thanks to my wonderful husband and family!! ❤
I have many reasons to smile!!
If you are interested in seeing more photos from the trip, feel free to visit my Instagram account. It is no longer set to private because I wanted a wider audience to be able to find me once Neil and I get our podcast up and running!
