Welcome back!
I’m kinda bummed that I missed last Friday, the 13th, but oh well. Life has been sorta hectic lately, but I’m grateful another weekend is upon us!!
Top 5 Songs on Repeat This Week:
- From Eden by Hozier
I love Hozier!! And this song gets me every time!
2. You Saved Me by Gary Clark Jr.
I have discovered many of my favorite musical artist’s on Austin City Limits, this man is one of them. I have talked many times about how the sound of a blues guitar moves me. I just find that deep and dirty sound so sexy! There are many songs that make my hips instinctively sway, and this is one of them!
3. Walls (Circus) by Tom Petty
I LOVE Tom Petty, he is one of my all time favorites, and I love this song!! I can’t get enough of it this week.
4. November Blue by The Avett Brothers
I love this band so much!! I love their sound, and something about this song just sets my soul on fire. I’m not sure if it’s the guitar, the sweet lyrics, or because I’ve always been taken with November. It’s still fall, celebrations all month long, celebrating my birthday, Thanksgiving, and kicking off the holiday season! My heart is always full of love, but there’s something about November love that just feels like home. Hmmm….. I think I should write a poem about this!
5. A Little Honey by Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats
It’s funny, Neil introduced me to this band with their song SOB, which we both fell in love with. We watched them on an episode of Austin City Limits, and weren’t really all that crazy about their other songs, but they have been popping up more and more on the “Discover Weekly” playlist on Spotify, and I’ve been falling in love with them all over again. My brother really likes them too, we share music back and forth, which is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world. I love it when people share music with me!
Highlights of the Week:
A new car!! My Buick went down hill really quickly and the repair cost to fix her were almost as much as what I owed on her, and with as much as Neil and I travel, it just wasn’t really worth it to put all that money into her and to turn around and have something else break, so we traded her in for something newer with less mileage, and I am now the proud owner of a Jeep Renegade!!
I have had an extremely productive work week, fueled by coffee!!
The season premiere of American Horror Story (1984) <— Great year by the way! Oh my gosh, it was soooooo good!!! I’m so excited for this season!!
Some absolutely breathtaking sunsets. I need to post another Wordless Wednesday!
I am getting excited for my birthday! Neil is taking me for a weekend getaway. It is a complete surprise. I have no idea where we are going or what we are doing! I have always wanted to be “kidnapped” and be taken away somewhere and given a complete surprise. This will be a first for me, so I’m really looking forward to it. I LOVE surprises!!
Random Loves/Things That Make Me Happy/Things That I’m Grateful For:
Road trips!! I love road trips, and I think I’m going to love them even more now that I have my Jeep!! She runs so smoothly! Neil and I are headed to Baltimore next week to see about putting him on the wait list for a kidney transplant.
Nature. I love being out in nature, spending time with the birds and feeling the wind blow trough my hair. Especially this time of year when the leaves are changing, there’s an autumnal feel in the air, and the days are still warm enough to enjoy being outside.
Incense. I bought some new dragons blood & patchouli incense, and I am loving them!! I have the prettiest little lotus incense burner!
Sunflowers
My coworker brought in some sunflowers from her yard earlier in the month, and gave me this little baby one, which I wore in my hair for the whole day!!
Tim Horton’s Coffee!! I love me some Tim Horton’s!!!
Funny:
This Scottish guy ranting about eyebrows. I laughed so hard!! Plus, I love his accent, I could listen to him rant about whatever! Lol.
I rolled on the floor laughing at this one:
Pay It Forward:
I want to encourage all of you to support local vendors. Shop local, eat local, etc.. It really helps your community and small mom & pop places. Sometimes you do pay more than big chains, but you’re getting fresh, quality items, and to me that’s worth it!
Support writers and artists, if you can’t afford to buy their art, books, or music, share their stuff on social media, help them get the word out, this goes a long way! And if you do buy from them, please leave them a review!!
