This has been a pretty incredible week for me actually, other than the fact that my heart is heavy for my coworker who lost her 14-week-old puppy, he ran away, but we’re all staying hopeful that he will return.
And my bestie in Arizona is stressed to the max with her job, and I’m the type of person that wants to help and fix things for those I love, so I’m sad that I can’t ease her work load.
My work week hasn’t been too crazy, and for that, I’m grateful!!
Top 5 Songs on Repeat This Week:
- Sweet City Woman by the Stampeders
This is one of those songs that I forgot about, but it popped up on my Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify, and I’ve been listening to it and bopping around in my chair all week!
2. Angel From Montgomery by Bonnie Raitt
Tracy in “Into The Wild,” sings this song with Chris, and I have heard it before, but I never really paid attention to the lyrics until I watched the movie, and I just can’t get enough of this song now.
3. Howlin’ For You by The Black Keys
I LOVE The Black Keys, I swear they are one of those bands that just get better the more you listen to them!! They have become one of my all time favorites. This song in particular just does it for me!!
4. Call it Dreaming by Iron & Wine!
I just want it noted that I was a fan of Iron & Wine before “Twilight” made them popular!!! I am in love with this song!
5. Sweet Inspiration by Derek Trucks Band
This was another song I discovered through The Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify, and once again I was immediately taken. I love the beat, and the vocals. It’s had me dancing around like a fool all week long!!
Highlights of the Week:
Yesterday I kicked off the countdown for the “Falling Into Autumn” Blog Party. If you missed that post, you can view it here. We would love to have many participants for the prompt!
My creative juices have been flowing a lot recently, and I’m really happy with how my latest short story, The Boy With the Moon Tattoo turned out!!
I found out yesterday that my supervisors and her supervisors are talking about moving some of my job duties around, and with it would come a substantial pay raise! Please keep your fingers crossed that this happens!
Discovering new music! Thanks to Mathew, I’ve been listening to Emancipator while I write, and I think it has helped my creativity! I especially love this song:
I am going to try my hand at making artisan bread this weekend, so I’m looking forward to that. I am also hoping to get out and go exploring this weekend as well, so stay tuned for pictures! Hopefully it doesn’t rain, sometimes it’s nice to get caught in the rain, but it doesn’t always make for great photography.

I had no idea how receptive and supportive my blogger friends would be about my little publication. Thank you so much. It’s so appreciated. I would have loved to send you a signed copy. I’ve ordered 10 copies just for myself. So you need to help me think up a contest to give away one in the future 😉
P.s. I’m so happy you love Emancipator. My favorite is Soon it Will Be Cold Enough to Build Fires. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRgPIbSX1mg
