Just As The Sun Loves The Moon

sunsets14

Weston, Vermont

I used to fear the unknown-

worried about how my life will turn out

if I’m widowed early.

But I’m not afraid anymore.

I cannot waste what time we have left

on what if’s,

or troubled worries.

Life is far too short;

so I’m diving deep in life’s ocean.

I think I’ve finally figured out

why I’m so obsessed with sunsets.

There is a quote by an artist that I know not the name,

it goes:

“Tell me a story of how the sun loved the moon so much

he died every night just to let her breathe.”

There’s something beautiful about endings-

for it leads to new beginnings.

And while selfishly, I want to keep him here for all eternity,

I also want him to know, I’ll be okay.

When his time comes around, if my heart is still beating,

I will take a brush and paint the sky with hues of purple & blue

& show the world how much I love him-

just as the sun loves the moon.

    Kristen.. how lovingly you captured today’s sunset and lightened up that tiny darkness in your own heart. You just inspired me to write this;

    When a woman
    Loves a man

    The sun
    And moon

    Rise together
    In opposite directions

    To light up
    This beautiful planet

    On both sides
    Days and nights

    He is very blessed to have you as his partner, I could feel your deep love and longing to be with him forever in your words. Sending blessings to both of you.

    Oooh this is so lovely. What a powerful opening. Dealing with such a heavy subject with tact and dignity. Also, quite inspiring because you are absolutely right. And the ending! Ugh. Goosebumps! You know what a hopeless romantic I am and that moved me so much! Lovely work!

  8. It’s so easy to get bogged down with all the what ifs. Continue gathering strength because you’re right, worrying isn’t going to change things. Your love is truly inspirational! 😁
