I used to fear the unknown-
worried about how my life will turn out
if I’m widowed early.
But I’m not afraid anymore.
I cannot waste what time we have left
on what if’s,
or troubled worries.
Life is far too short;
so I’m diving deep in life’s ocean.
I think I’ve finally figured out
why I’m so obsessed with sunsets.
There is a quote by an artist that I know not the name,
it goes:
“Tell me a story of how the sun loved the moon so much
he died every night just to let her breathe.”
There’s something beautiful about endings-
for it leads to new beginnings.
And while selfishly, I want to keep him here for all eternity,
I also want him to know, I’ll be okay.
When his time comes around, if my heart is still beating,
I will take a brush and paint the sky with hues of purple & blue
& show the world how much I love him-
just as the sun loves the moon.

Kristen.. how lovingly you captured today’s sunset and lightened up that tiny darkness in your own heart. You just inspired me to write this;
When a woman
Loves a man
The sun
And moon
Rise together
In opposite directions
To light up
This beautiful planet
On both sides
Days and nights

Not many couples are that lucky to love each other equally like you guys are. Enjoy these precious moments and store them forever in your being for any later use during more lovely sunsets to come.

Thank you. My husband has many health issues, and it seemed like every year something else was added to his already extensive list. Realistically, I understand that his body can only take so much. He was experiencing health issues at 35 that most people don’t endure until their 70’s, but I’ve learned that none of us are promised tomorrow, & there is no sense worrying. Whether he is taken from me tomorrow or 20 years from now, it’s important for us to make the most of every precious second.

I’m sorry to hear that. Pls know that his only true strength is “you”. He is your sun and you are her moon. Never let a tiny despair or sadness come near that precious soul. How lucky are you to have such an opportunity to be given for proving the mettle of your love. I feel jealous of you Kristen 🙂 Stay blessed and strong… those sunsets must definitely heal your soul from this triumph.

You’re always welcome. I have something to share with you quite similar but public comments on a blog is not a right space for that. I will be shooting you an E-mail at your address given on your blog. My E-mail is aatayyab@gmail.com

Oooh this is so lovely. What a powerful opening. Dealing with such a heavy subject with tact and dignity. Also, quite inspiring because you are absolutely right. And the ending! Ugh. Goosebumps! You know what a hopeless romantic I am and that moved me so much! Lovely work!

It’s so easy to get bogged down with all the what ifs. Continue gathering strength because you’re right, worrying isn’t going to change things. Your love is truly inspirational! 😁
