One of my favorite cities turns 290 years old today, and to honor this city that owns a piece of my heart, I thought I’d write a blog post!!
Baltimore! Home of the Orioles, the famous Maryland crab cake, Berger cookies, and my husband!
I get a lot of crap from people when I tell them how much I love this city! Sure there’s crime, and there are also parts of this city that I steer clear of, knowing that it’s dangerous, but you’ll have that with any city!!
I saw my first baseball game in this city, I tried my first snowball in this city, my family lives in this city! You can knock it all you want, but you will never convince me that this city isn’t as charming as it claims to be.
The harbor is lit up at night with beautiful colors that reflect on the water. Camden Yards is spectacularly beautiful.
You can find no better cheesesteak than a Baltimore cheesesteak, with the exception of Gettysburg, but that’s a topic for another day.
Baltimore is full of quirky boutique shops & museums. It holds Honfest, Renfest, & Oktoberfest! It has a fabulous aquarium, beautiful libraries, and there’s a little something for everyone!
I have tasted the best seafood, Chinese, & Mexican cuisine in Baltimore.
If you have never been, I highly recommend this city. Don’t listen to all the hype about how bad the city is. I’m here to tell you, that it’s colorful history and equally colorful rowhomes just add to it’s charm. You can find haunted places, visit Edgar Allen Poe’s grave site, try ethnic cuisine, and get your education on all in one place.
I don’t know about you, but Baltimore sure does sound lovable and exciting to me, and as someone who has been there many times, I can assure you, it is!!
The Baltimore Accent:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BALTIMORE!!
“Her heart was filled with laughter when she saw those city lights
She said the prettiest place on earth is Baltimore at night”
I’ll see you soon, charm city! I’m looking forward to a cheesesteak & an egg custard snowball with marshmallow!
Love & life lessons,
