Friday Favorites #10

I have actually had a really good week. My heart is heavy for a friend who had a breakdown last evening, and is unbelievably stressed, but she knows I’m here, and she took some much needed time for herself last night.

My week has been extremely productive, and I’ve been working on ways to improve my teaching methods for my staff’s data input so that I can accurately extract it from our database. I’m excited to work with them on this latest project, and hopefully make all of our lives easier.

I am excited that it’s Friday though because I am cookie baking with Amanda this evening! Our version of Christmas in July! I am trying out a new cookie recipe I never have before. The cookie batter isn’t my own recipe, I found it on Pinterest, however; the glaze for said cookies is my own.

I am making London Fog cookies. Earl Grey shortbread cookies with a lavender glaze! I hope they turn out well, if so, I will be making them for friends and family this Christmas!!

1. You Make My Dreams by Hall & Oates

I LOVE Hall & Oates, & I’ve been listening to them all week, which is what sparked yesterday’s post.

2. Chocolate Box by Prince featuring Q-Tip

I heard this song for the first time a few days ago & I found it to be so catchy, I’ve added it to my playlist, and I’ve been jamming to it all week. Perhaps Prince has helped me be uber productive this week! Hmmm….

3. The Promise by When In Rome

My friend, Christen’s boyfriend posted this song on Facebook earlier this week and it was one of those, “Holy crap, I forgot how much I love this song,” moments. I’ve been listening to this all week as well.

I love the line “And if I had to walk the world, I’d make you fall for me, I promise you I will.”

4. Rosanna by Toto

I have always loved this song. That first line always gets me. “All I wanna do when I wake up in the morning is see your eyes.”

This song makes me want to dance around the house, and while the lyrics are sad, the music is very upbeat. This is another song I can’t help but sing along to.
