Love & the Country #24 – An amazing weekend, friendship, & guitar riffs

It is amazing how much better I feel after spending some much needed time with Amanda. Sometimes just communicating with someone can be so freeing. I was able to get things off of my chest that I had been carrying for weeks. It is a bit ridiculous how I will overthink something so much that I get worked up over nothing. It happened at work, but I was able to vent about what’s been bothering me, and now I have no worries, I’m thinking more clearly, and have regained some confidence! I thank God every day for giving me such a great friend!

Amanda and I sat on her deck, watching the sunset, and of course, I managed to snap a few pictures.

We sipped wine, and after the sunset we watched the fireflies, and we stargazed! I got to enjoy 3 of my most favorite things all in one night, and all with my soul sister! It was wonderful!!

Last night a few thunderstorms came through, and it helped me relax. I love watching it storm! This morning, just like every Sunday, Neil and I watched Sunday Morning on CBS and it gave me so much inspiration for upcoming blog posts! It’s as if everything has lined up just to give me the perfect ending to an extremely crappy week!

I try to do some sort of self care act every Sunday, and today I decided a long, hot soak in the Jacuzzi was just what I needed, and after releasing all of the tension I’ve been carrying, it was a welcomed source of self care and enjoyment. While soaking I listened to my favorite guitar riffs playlist which also sparked some creativity. Anyway, I’m spending what’s left of this Sunday getting lost in the music and swaying around my house. These are a few of the songs that I love letting myself get lost in:

Sabbra Cadabra by Metallica

I know I might get some flack from some of my fellow Metal Heads for this, but I prefer Metallica’s cover of this song over Black Sabbath’s original. There’s just something about the guitar in this version that sounds….dirtier. Plus, James’ voice…. *swoon*

I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know by Donny Hathaway

This song is a little bit slower, but oh how I love the rhythm, saxophone, and of course, guitar!

The Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair by Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin is one of my all time favorite bands, and this is another one of those songs that just instinctively make me start to dance!

You Can Leave Your Hat On by Etta James

A little bit of funk, a little bit of jazz, with Etta James’ raspy voice equals a whole lotta sexy! This is one of my favorite songs to dance to!

I sincerely hope all of you have had as wonderful of a weekend as I have.

Enjoy!

Love & life lessons,

Kristian
