Friday Favorites #7

Welcome back beautiful souls!

I am especially glad today is Friday because after work I am going to spend some quality time with Amanda! I have spoken of her and our friendship many times, but I have been missing her more than ever lately and I just can’t wait to sit and talk, listen to music, and have my batteries recharged. Amanda is so good for my soul!!

As many of you know I am going through some difficult times right now and I have been having a hard time relaxing. I need to focus more on the things that set my soul on fire and let go of the things that don’t. I keep getting hung up on all of my failures, the things I haven’t done, and the finance bully at work who really got under my skin this week. I’ve been making somethings out of nothings at work, getting upset and stressed out over things that aren’t even my responsibility, and not leaving those issues at work but bringing them home. This has caused insomnia and neck issues. I can literally feel the tension in my neck and shoulders because that’s where I carry my stress. I have been beating myself up over nothing, because once I again I fell off of the ridiculously high pedestal I continue to put myself on. I don’t really understand why I am so quick to forgive everyone else for their wrong doings, but when it comes to myself, forgiveness doesn’t come quite so quickly or easily.

Anyway, I’m trying, my friends. Here is to focusing more on what sets my soul on fire and letting go of what doesn’t!

Top 4 Songs On Repeat This Week:

  1. I Only Wanna Be With You by Volbeat

My brother-in-law, Brandon, introduced me to Volbeat, and I instantly fell in love with them. The lead singer is hard to understand sometimes, but he has such a unique voice, and I absolutely love their cover of this song!! It’s another one that makes me turn up the volume, sing at the top of my lungs, and dance around like a fool!

2. Edge of Desire by John Mayer

John Mayer…. *sigh* He’s another one who doesn’t just play the guitar, he makes love to it, and I think that’s why almost all of his songs inflict some sort of emotion in me. Not necessarily his words (although, they sometime do too,) but the music. I love John Mayer and this is one of my all time favorite songs. It’s so beautiful!

3. Good Friend and a Glass of Wine by LeAnn Rimes Feat. Joss Stone

This is mine and Amanda’s song. Neither of us can listen to it without thinking of the other. But the words ring true “Every now and then every girl needs a good friend and a glass of wine!” Can’t wait for my “Pick me up to get me through the night.” Love you, Amanda!!

4. Nothing Else Matters by Metallica

This is another one of my all time favorite songs! James Hetfield is an amazing song writer, and singer, and guitar player…. gahh! This is another one of those songs that I just feel. I love soulful music! This song really does come from the heart.

Highlights of the Week:

tea Lavender syrup. My lavender syrup that Neil ordered me from Amazon came in, so now I can make London fogs at home, and I’m going to try my hand at making London fog cookies! I’m so excited!!

tea Seattle Pizza! I tried it when I was on vacation in Baltimore, and it was SO good. I really had a taste for it, so I made it at home and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out:

Homemade ranch dressing, Asiago, Parmesan, Vermont Sharp White Cheddar, and Mozzarella, green pepper, red onion, grilled chicken, and tomato. Yummy!!

seattle pizza

tea Planning a girls night with Amanda!!

tea Discovering new music!!

Things I’m Grateful For

grateful.jpg Coffee!! I have needed lots of it to get me through a few days this week!

grateful.jpg The outpouring of support I have received from friends, fellow bloggers, and family,

grateful.jpg Coworkers and a supportive boss that I can vent to.

grateful.jpg Trials that remind me of my strength.

Funny:

The Bossy Boss Lady:

Bahaha! This little girl is my spirit child!! Neil told me he was going to get me a mug with my baby picture on it! I laughed and told him I would seriously talk to it too! Hahaha! I so badly want to march myself downstairs, walk into the finance monsters office and say ” _____, why don’t you go to the personality store and buy yourself some decency.”  Hahaha!

I think I need to go back on vacation, the past two weeks have been absolutely horrible! Ugh!! Here’s hoping that next week is better, at the very least it’s a holiday, so it’s a short week for me!

I hope all of you have a fantabulous <– That’s a word now) weekend!!

Stay weird and great!

Love & life lessons,

Kristian
