Lessons We’ve Been Taught…

troll

If you know me at all you know one thing that infuriates me more than anything else is bullying!! What’s the point?!?!

While perusing through some blog posts this morning I saw some rather nasty comments left on people’s blog posts.

Whatever happened to the lessons we’ve been taught? Such as: “If you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing?” What ever happened to “Treat people the way you’d like to be treated?”

Do these miserable people really have nothing better to do with their time than hide behind their computer screens and bully people? Cause I guarantee the vast majority of them are not doing the same thing to people’s faces (although, I’m sure some are.)

I just don’t understand. As long as people are not harming themselves or others, why can’t we just let people be?

Let them have their weird little quirks. So Suzy likes to celebrate Halloween all year long and has Jack Skeleton everything, and Jim likes to leave his Christmas tree up until May…. who cares????

Life is too short to be miserable and I’ve found that the majority of bullies are exactly that…miserable!

They wish they had the confidence to admit that they like weird art, bad movies, or whatever quirky thing brings them some small fraction of joy. They hate their jobs, lives, etc… and it makes them angry to see other people happy. I pity them!

The best revenge is just to keep doing whatever it is that makes you happy! So I’m going to celebrate Suzy wearing her Jack Skeleton beanie in the heat of summer and I’ll go to Jim’s house and bring him Christmas cookies in the middle of May, because, why not??

And yes, everyone is entitled to their opinions, and by all means, you can think Suzy and Jim are weird, maybe they are, but you also have the right to keep your hateful opinions to yourself!!

Ugh…. I’ll get off my soapbox now…It just baffles me how some people are stuck in high school, sorry you peaked so young while the rest of us continue to grow!

Stay weird and great!

Love & life lessons,

Kristian

I am completely with you on this. Bullying affected me so much growing up. I thought it happened because there were something wrong with me! Now as an adult I see it’s because bullies are people not happy with who they are and, as you said, not having the confidence to embrace their own joys. Makes my blood boil though.

Yes, there is no need to hurt other people. We don’t all have to agree or like each others opinions, but that doesn’t mean we have to be rude & critical!! I’m sorry to hear you were bullied.

Too bad. You’re right, if one cannot say anything nice or positive, don’t comment at all.

Bullies like to have someone to control and manipulate. Once you let them know they can’t with you, they will usually move onto someone else.

THANK YOU. I was just speaking with my sister about this. So frustrating. It’s good to have voices like yours out here!
