The Sunshine Blogger Award

Happy Friday to all of you beautiful souls! And if it’s already Saturday wherever you are, I hope you have a fabulous weekend! 🙂

Laura Beth, author of Hot Shot Headlines nominated me for The Sunshine Blogger Award, this is my 7th nomination for this award.

I apologize that it has taken me so long to get to this, Laura Beth, but I am deeply humbled and honored by it!! I have been in a bit of a funk when it comes to writing, I have started and re-written Didi’s challenge 3 times, but I need to get it busted out this weekend!

Anyway, let’s get into this:

My Answers

  1. If you could only listen to two artists or bands for the rest of your life, who would you choose, and why?

>>Wow! I think this might be the hardest question I’ve ever been asked. I LOVE music!!

I know my first choice would be Led Zeppelin because in my opinion, they are one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Also, their music is very eclectic, one song doesn’t really sound similar to another, so I wouldn’t get burnt out.

My second choice would have to be the Beatles. I have loved the Beatles since I was a baby. My mom used to tell me stories of how my grandma would play them just so she would see me shake my tail feathers. I still love the Beatles, and many of their songs bring back so many fond memories for me!

  2. What is your dream novel, or idea for one?

>> I have so many ideas for novels. When I was a child I wrote a story about a man who lived on the moon. I’ve been toying with the idea of writing a kids story about that.

I would talk about the novel I’m currently writing involving my beloved Michael and Cara, but I don’t want to give away any spoilers! But I will say it’s a romantic sci-fi.

3. Do you remember the first book you ever read?

>> Yes, I do. It was the Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams. I was only 4-years-old when I first read the book. I was instantly taken by it, and even though I was very young, I knew then that I wanted to be a writer. There’s an entire story behind my love of this book and how it inspired me to start writing. Maybe I’ll write a blog post about it sometime.

4. If you could live in any sitcom, which would it be?

>>  Parks and Recreation! Oh my gosh, can you imagine how much fun it would be working and hanging out with Leslie, April, Andy, and Ron?!?! It would be a blast, and I’d fit right in with this group!

5. If money were no object, where would you be living?

<< If money were no object I would buy an island, build a village, and build a small community. (If I love you, you’re coming with me!) I would bring back the barter system, I would have a community garden and hire people to take care of the crops and make sure everyone received a fair share depending on their household size, we would mostly be solar powered, people could have jobs that they truly love, and 3 day weekends and annual 2 week vacations would be mandatory!!

6. If you could INSTANTLY become an expert in something, what would it be?

>> The electric guitar!! I would so just walk around playing guitar riffs all of the time! When arguments break out at work, guitar riff! When someone wants to continue to debate a discussion that has been closed, guitar riff!Wwhenever I enter a room, guitar riff!!! Lol.

7. Who are three people, living or dead, that you most admire?

<< My mom, because even though she had a slew of health problems, she still found a way to smile through her chronic pain, she still found a way to cheer up those around her, she was still grateful even though she wasn’t truly living, and despite everything, she was still the most loving, caring, and generous woman I have ever had the good fortune of knowing. I am beyond blessed that I got to call her “mom.”

My husband. In his short life he has dealt with more health issues than anyone I know. I worry about him constantly, and I try to make the most of the time we have left together (however long that may be.) This man still manages to help me with household chores despite being tired after dialysis, he takes care of me when I’m sick, even though some days it’s a chore for him just to tie his shoes. He manages to laugh every single day. He knows all of my favorite things, he looks forward to whatever future he has, and keeps on keeping on, knowing that his longevity most likely won’t last as long as the rest of his peers. He’s a great man, a wonderful friend, and I’m so thankful he’s mine.

My best friend, Amanda. I have told you guys and gals before that I refer to her as super woman. Well let me explain why that is. This beautiful woman is a godsend. She knows every single one of my deepest and darkest secrets and she doesn’t judge me for it. She has stayed by my side even when I made stupid decisions or behaved poorly in my youth while I was still trying to find myself. She makes time for her friends, she works as a dental hygienist at least two days a week, she’s a mom to a wonderful young man, the most laid back dog ever, and numerous chickens. She was a single mother before meeting her husband, and she made a wonderful life for her and her son. She balanced her finances to be sure she could provide for him, she went to school and got a degree so she could provide an even better life for him. She goes above and beyond for the people she loves, she hosts a bible study, and she’s one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met.

10. It’s “Self-Care Sunday,” what are you doing?

>> Ideally, I am chilling with my best friends, Amanda and Christen, we are sipping wine, eating cheese and rosemary crackers, chocolate, and fruit. We are giving ourselves pedicures and listening to music or watching romantic movies. We are truly relaxing and enjoying each others company.

If I am by myself, I’d also read, relax in my Jacuzzi and do something crafty.

11. What historical time period would you like to visit?

>> I have always been taken with the Medieval Period. I love the Gothic architecture, Knights, outfits, and I love learning about that particular period in time. I wouldn’t necessarily want to live during that period, but it would be cool to visit for a while. I love history!

I have decided not to nominate anyone this time around. It’s so hard to choose, I have so many favorite bloggers! However, I think you are all deemed worthy of this award, so if you would like to accept it on my behalf, please do so.

Feel free to answer the same questions I did, because they are fabulous questions, and also, I can’t lie, I’m extremely exhausted from lack of sleep and I’m struggling to come up with 11 questions of my own. I may just do a question and answer post one of these days and ask all of you to participate.

Thanks for reading!

Love & life lessons,

Kristian

  4. Congratulations Kristian! Awesome job! I so enjoyed reading this one. Probably the best award reception I have read so far this year!

No Metallica?!?! Sorry, I would tired of the Beatles after two hours. Can’t take them anymore. I had a spell in the 90’s when I listened to them for three weeks straight.

Wonderful photo of your mom and husband. You are a blessed woman!

The island sounds like a plan!!

      Thank you so much, Stuart!

Lol. We all know how much I love my Metallica, but I have to be in the mood to listen to Metal, and I think I actually like Black Sabbath just a tiny bit more. I am ALWAYS in the mood for classic rock though!! As I said, the Beatles bring back so many fond memories for me, so some of it is more about the feelings they inflict than their actual music, but the Beatles have so many albums and such a variety. I was so torn because I also LOVE Pink Floyd… ugh! I think I’d die if I couldn’t listen to all of my favorite artists.

I am a very blessed woman, and yes, I’d love to make that island a reality!!
