Thank you Monday #19

Every Friday Jimmy Fallon writes “thank you” notes to random people or places. I have decided to take a spin on that, only my “thank you” notes will be sincere because I don’t  say thank you nearly enough to the people in my life, and I will also do “Thank you Monday’s”, so I can start my week off on a positive note!

My 19th thank you goes to Adam Jones.

Dear Adam,

I heard the news yesterday that you have signed a contract with the Diamondbacks. I’d be lying if I said as an Orioles fan this didn’t sadden me a little.

You were the very first home run I ever saw live! I remember it distinctly, the sound of the bat hitting the ball, and even though that was my first live game, I knew just by the sound it was a home run. Sure enough, I watched as the ball flew out of the stadium and you leisurely ran to home! I remember the way the sun hit my face, I remember rising out of my seat and shouting JOOOONNNNEEESSSS at the top of my lungs! I remember everything, as clear as day!!

I want to thank you for that incredible memory. You brought the child out of me that day, and that child like excitement fills my heart as I think of it. I literally have tears of joy running down my face as I write this. You introduced me to a whole entire world I had never experienced before and it was at that moment that I truly fell in love with baseball. Thank you for that too! Words fail me when I try to describe my love for this game. Baseball is such a charming sport, and you, sir, are one of the greatest hitters I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. So thank you for your time spent in Baltimore, for pouring your heart into the orioles, for going to bat (literally,) for your home team. I sincerely mean it when I say I wish you all the best in the remainder of your career, no matter where you go, you will always have this O’s fans support, and also a part of her heart.

Thank you for showing me what it truly means to be a team player, and what it’s truly like to be a lover of such a wonderful sport. From the bottom of my heart, Adam, thank you!!

One of your biggest fans, Kristian
