The following are a few of my favorite things:

letter a is for Afterglow! That feeling of fulfillment that remains after a wonderful experience. The afterglow I felt after seeing my very first Metallica concert lasted for days!

letter b is for Breakfast! It’s funny, I don’t eat breakfast every morning, I know I should, but there’s something about breakfast food that warms my heart!

letter c is for Cards Against Humanity. “A game for horrible people.” I’m not a horrible person, but I do love this game, and we’re having friends over this weekend to play it, and I’m so flippin’ excited!

letter d is for Dreams. “You may say that I’m a dreamer, but I’m not that only one.” I won’t lie, I daydream probably more than I should. If you follow me on Pinterest, you will find that I have lots of dream boards. Dream house, dream closet, etc… What are we without dreams though? So much of my writing has come from dreams I have had.

letter e is for empathy. I will admit, being empathetic is both a blessing and a curse. I feel things so deeply, and I’m a very sensitive and emotional person, but I would’t trade my ability to place myself in another’s shoes for anything. It truly is one of my greatest gifts, and the more I realize how rare of a trait it really is, the more blessed I feel to have it.

letter f is for Flame. Both literal and figurative meanings of the word. I love to watch the flame of a lit candle dance. I feel the flame of love burning deep inside me.

letter g is for Groove. “One nation under a groove.” If you’ve been reading me for a while, then you know I love to get my groove on!

letter h is for Hope. Hope for a future world filled with more love, peace, and understanding. Hope for my future which I “hope” consists of an arts and crafts house, a bohemian style, screened in porch, a back deck that faces west so I can watch the sunset, a corgi, and a cure for both FSGS and CMT, so I can grow old beside my Neily.

letter i is for Ice Cream! It’s my weakness. I LOOOOVEEEE ice cream!! Especially in summer when the soft serve stand opens,  and the rich, creamy taste of strawberry and french vanilla swirled together hits my taste buds. It’s so delightfully delicious!

letter j is for Jeep! My cousin, Eddie was the first person I knew with a Jeep. I was probably only around 6 or 7 years old at the time, and I decided that I wanted one too. Well, I still want one, and one day a mint green one will be mine!

letter k is for kindness. In a world so full of hate, I stop and appreciate the acts of kindness I do witness. I also try to do random acts of kindness for people throughout the year. I’ll pay for a cup of coffee at a coffee shop & ask them to give it to a single mother, police officer, or anyone they see struggling. I leave random notes on my colleagues desks to let them know I notice and appreciate their work efforts, etc… Life is full of strife, and acts of kindness can go a long way!

letter l is for limes. I love limes! I put them in my water and tea, and key lime pie is one of my favorite desserts!

letter m2 is for marimba. Pretty much my favorite instrument of all time, especially to play! I love the way it sounds. If I had an extra $10,000 I’d buy one. It’s made out of rose wood, which is becoming rare, so they are worth a pretty penny.

letter n is for Nature! I love being out in nature, whether it’s listening to the birds, hiking, stargazing, looking at a waterfall, laying on the beach, etc…. I love all of it!

letter o is for Orioles. I love baseball, it’s one of the few sports I’ll watch no matter what team is playing, and I’ll get into it and cheer on pretty much any team (Except the Yankees. Sorry Jared, or the Blue Jays.) My heart is with the Orioles though.

letter p is for Patriotism. A flood of words entered my mind for this letter… pumpkins, peaches, pistachios, pomegranates, porches…. It turns out a lot of my favorite things start with P. I went with Patriotism though because there’s a lot of things happening with America and our government that I am not proud of. I think this is the first time I have never had respect for a president, but I just can’t respect a bully, and that’s what he is. At the end of the day though, I am grateful that I live where I do. A lot of places have it far worse, and the issues in America right now will eventually pass. They might pass like a kidney stone, but nevertheless, they will pass!

letter q is for Quirky! I love most things quirky, heck, I myself am quirky!!

letter r is for rain. I get sick of it in the summer when it rains non-stop for days and days, but for the most part, I really do enjoy the rain. I like to dance it, and I absolutely love thunderstorms!

letter s is for superheros! Both real-life & fictional ones. My favorites are: Doctor Strange, Thor, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Groot. My favorite real life superheroes are: Our military, firefighters, emergency rescue personnel, my dad, mom brother, grandma, and husband, animal rescue workers, Mother Theresa, anyone who goes out of their way to help others, Neil Armstrong, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, Stephen Hawking, Cal Ripken Jr., Eddie Murray, Ted Williams, Chipper Jones, & Jerome Bettis.

letter t is for Terror. I love the horror genre, I like to be scared. I love the adrenaline rush that comes with being scared (in a good way.) Haunted houses, scary movies, horror novels… I love it all!

letter u is for Umbrella. I’m not sure what it is about them exactly, but I have a weird love for umbrella’s. I also like them in paintings.

letter v is for vastness. I am a lover of many things, and I have vast taste in many areas. Some people think this is annoying, but it’s who I am, so if they don’t like it, they don’t have to stick around. 🙂

letter w is for whales! It is a dream of mine to go whale watching one day! Another bucket list item of mine.

letter x is for Xenophilia. I love learning about different places and cultures!

letter y is for You! That’s right, you!! The person reading this! I just want you to know that I appreciate you so very much. Whether we’re blogging buddies, acquaintances, or you know me personally, your support and encouragement mean the world to me. Thank YOU, beautiful souls!

letter z is for Zamboni. Not so much the vehicle, although, I think it would be sort of fun to drive, but the word itself. I don’t know why, I just like it. It’s a fun word to say!

*************************************************************************************

I’m not going to tag anyone for this. I’m just going to leave it open for anyone who would like to do it!

Thanks again, Stuart! This was fun!!

Love & life lessons,

Kristian

This was great! I have a personal knowledge about the Zamboni – I taught figure skating for 30 years and you can’t skate well until that Zamboni cleans the ice!! Also, you always made nice with the Zamboni driver…….clean ice was important!!

Thank you! That’s awesome, figure skating is my favorite Olympic sport to watch. It’s something I wish I could do, but I can’t stay up on the ice. Lol! I’m not the most graceful person in the world. 😂😂

Anyone can learn if you have the right instruction, however, the really good skaters do have more talent and natural ability. My best skaters did………they were always in the top 3 in competition. Some skate with their heart which is even better!!
