I think the events of the past few days finally caught up with me. Saturday we traveled back home from Pittsburgh, and yesterday I did the bare minimum of what I needed to do and spent the rest of my time hanging out on the sofa watching reruns of Sex and The City.
Let’s get caught up!
I grew up with a brother almost 11 years my senior and he very much loved (and still does) torment me. I watched this movie for the very first time with him, and I still remember it. I love this movie, and while the movie itself never really scared me, it did heighten my awareness of the importance of not treading out too far from the shore when I swim in the ocean. Kudos to those of you who do, because I surely can’t!
My brother and I had so much fun back then, and I look back on those memories with fondness, even though he scared me half to death!
I have seen where they have “drive ins” of this movie, only instead of watching it in your car, you watch Jaws while sitting in a boat on the ocean, and I really want to do this!! How much fun would that be?
I watched this movie with my mom. She absolutely loved it, although I’ve never read the book, she claimed that it was far scarier than the movie. My dad would entertain us by watching horror movies with us, but he much preferred spaghetti westerns. Ha ha! We would turn out the lights, make some stove top popcorn and watch horror movies often. To this day these memories remain among my favorites.
This movie actually did scare me when I was younger, but it doesn’t so much now. It is still a well done movie though!
If you are 30 or older you might remember the “My Buddy” doll….. yeah, guess who had one, and guess whose older brother used it to scare her? Yeah….. This movie scared me so badly that I took my doll and buried it in the back yard. It’s still there somewhere! I’m surprised it wasn’t dug up and placed on my bed! (He’s actually not that mean, I dearly love my brother. He’s my best friend!)
I’m not a huge fan of all of the sequels, such as “The Bride of Chucky,” or “The seed of Chucky.” I will say I did enjoy the remake of the original though, but there will always be a place in my heart for the original “Child’s Play.” It was one of the first movies to truly scare me!
What are your thoughts on these three movies? Have you seen them all? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Love & life lessons,
