Kristian’s World of Horror – Day 15

Welcome back!

Today’s pick is once again, not technically a horror movie. It is a thriller, but it definitely creeped me out, and I feel I should pay homage to it.

Jonathan Demme’s The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

“Hello, Clarice.” Oh what a wonderful job of playing a psychopath Anthony Hopkins does! He deserved his Oscar for the role of Hannibal Lecter!

The “It puts the lotion on its skin,” scene was also very creepy! Oh, this movie still gives me chills, and as I mentioned, although it’s not considered horror, it’s on my list of scary movies. It definitely gives off that eerie vibe!

Have you seen Silence of the Lambs? If not, you need to watch it, like right now!! If you have, what are your thoughts?

Love & life lessons,

Saw Hannibal and squealed. I was not a fan of Silence of the Lambs but loved Hannibal (except for the ending) and Manhunter.

  2. Yes that was DEFINITELY a scary film – let’s face it. When all’s said and done, there’s nothing scarier than the evil men do

One of the very, very best! Fun fact – Sir Anthony Hopkins only has a total of 18 minutes onscreen. I love that his performance is so powerful and phenomenal that he won a Best Actor Oscar for only being present in about 16% of the film. What’s also interesting is that everyone knows “Hello, Clarice” as the famous line, but that’s actually a misquote… the line is, “Good evening, Clarice,” and the former is never said. I was so disbelieving of that, I watched it again in an attempt to disprove it… but it’s totally accurate! 😉
