This Front Porch

front porch

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a picture of my parents front porch, but this one come close, my parents porch is just a little wider.

This front porch holds so many memories,

laughter, joy, and tears.

This front porch still bring me comfort,

as it has all through my years.

This front porch makes me think of you,

I still feel your presence lingering near.

I close me eyes and see your smile, I feel your spirit here.

This front porch holds the bench that Jason and I bought you for Mothers Day

If I could turn back the hands of time, for a few more hours with you,

on this bench I’d stay.

To make more memories with you mom,

my heart will always carry a torch.

So I will be sure to savor every moment of time

I spend on this front porch.

  4. Lovely. We don’t have front porches in the UK, we sometimes have conservatories but they are always added on the back so they are private.
I think the idea of sitting out front and being able to smile and wave at the neighbours and people that pass by is such a lovely and friendly thing.
    We’re a bit more insular, I think.
