Kristian’s World of Horror – Day 1

Happy October, friends!!

I have written many posts on traditions, and one thing I always do this time of year is break out the horror movies, along with a few other not so scary Halloween favorites!!

For the entire month of October I am going to be sharing some of my favorites with you!!

Let’s get started, shall we?

Day 1:

Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining (1980)

This is one of my all time favorite horror movies. I wrote a piece about it a while back in one of my Nostalgia Thursday posts.

“Here’s Johnny!”

This movie has so many creepy scenes, such as the one mentioned above, an elevator of blood, twins that eerily taunt the son, Danny, the bathtub scene, “Stop Swinging the bat,” “Wendy, darling?! Light of my Life,” and of course, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”

Jack Nicholson’s performance, in my opinion is the epitome of a guy gone mad! If you haven’t watched this movie, I highly recommend it!! It’s top notch!!

Have you watched The Shining? What are your thoughts? Do you have another horror movie you would like to share?

Love & life lessons,

  1. The horror genre was my favorite at one time. Once I rededicated my life to the Lord I just couldn’t watch them anymore. One of my favorites was I Spit On Your Grave. Very brutal though with nudity.
