30 Day Jazz/Swing/Blues Challenge Days 1-4

Hello all of you lovely people,

April is National Jazz month, and to honor this I have decided to do a Jazz/Swing/Blues challenge.

As most of you know I am a huge lover of music, and what better way to share my love of music with you than with a daily challenge?

Every day during the month of April I will be sharing a song that fits within the Jazz/Swing/Blues genre.

I am a little late posting this challenge, so here are days 1-4!

Day 1:

Pink Panther Theme:

Written by: Henry Mancini

Performed by: Terry Gibbs Band featuring Henry Mancini on Piano

Day 2:

Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday

Day 3:

Sing Sing Sing by Benny Goodman – Just listen to that jazz clarinet!! (I’m a clarinetist for those of you who may not know.)

Day 4:

Summertime by Billie Holiday

What are your favorite Jazz/Swing/Blues songs?

Love & Life Lessons,

Kristian

I love all of these. I didn’t know you played the clarinet! I recommend you check out Dave Bennett. He is a fantastic performer – Clarinetist, pianist, and singer. He performed with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra recently, and he and his band were absolutely outstanding! They played so many classics, including Sing, Sing, Sing.

Awesome! I will definitely check him out! I’ve been playing clarinet since I was 8! I can also play saxophone, xylophone, and I’m not great, but I’ve dabbled with drums. I would love to learn to play piano & guitar. I don’t think I have a very good singing voice, but I’ve been told by numerous people that I do.
I play clarinet in a local concert band. We are currently practicing for our Spring Concert in May, and we are performing songs from Movies! So much fun!

That’s awesome! I have another good friend who plays clarinet in a community band, in Prince William County, Virginia. My parents love to drive up to hear her concerts.
