I started this blog to share my passions with my readers, which started with family and friends, and has now grown to over 600 followers! My life has been extremely stressful lately and I found myself once again falling into a downward spiral that lead to darkness. Fortunately, I have the best support system to help pull me out, but in order to help myself I use writing as an outlet. I have found that sharing my talent has also helped others beyond ways I have ever imagined, and helping others is also a huge passion of mine, which is why I am in the career I have chosen.
One of the ways I relieve stress is to focus on the positive instead of all of the negativity that surrounds me in this hateful and violent world we live in. I have decided to get back to sharing my passions with you lovely people!
A newly found passion of mine is painting. I’m not very good at it, but that’s okay. I find it therapeutic and fun, and the only way I’ll get better is to stick with it, right?! Like many of my passions, painting involves creativity, and I think that’s what I enjoy most, creating… blog posts, fiction, recipes, music, etc…
I haven’t painted in a while, but I thought I would share my latest painting with you:
As I mentioned I’m not that good, but it’s honestly okay, because I had a blast, and I want to do more!
My favorite painter of all time is Vincent Van Gough!
Starry Night has been my favorite painting for as long as I can remember!
There are two artists I know personally that I would like to share with you. The first one being my dear friend, Amanda! Amanda has been a painter for as long as I’ve known her, and she’s great at it! She painted me a canvas for my birthday a few years back and to say I was delighted would be an understatement. Amanda painted the painting below freehand! It was the first painting she had ever done freehand, and I was the lucky recipient. I have this painting hanging above my television in my living room, and it’s one of my most cherished items!
The gal has amazing talent, and this painting is even more beautiful in person!
The second person is I;d like to mention is Paul Tepper. I don’t know Paul very well, but he was a couple of grades ahead of me in school, and I was in marching band with his brother. Paul’s talent is phenomenal! His work is abstract, unique, and brilliant! You can check out his work at http://ptepper.com/Home.html
If you know anything at all about me you know that I love people who have the ability to bare their souls, who aren’t afraid to show you their depth. Paul does this with his paintings, in fact; when you go to his website you will see an album where he talks about his dreams and his past lovers and he gives you insight to both through his paintings. It’s raw and emotional, and I love that he was brave enough to share that with the world. I find that the scars, the flawed, and the imperfect are the ones who are most beautiful. I won’t share any of his actual artwork on here because I do not have his permission, and I don’t know him well enough to know if it would offend him, but I will tell you that one of my favorite pieces from him is called A Sweeter Song: Fire, and I also love White Prayer. So go check him out, and if you feel so inclined, message him with a request! He does paintings of animals known as Fur Baby Fine Art, so send him some pictures of your fur babies. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!
Who are your favorite artists? What are your passions?
Love and life lessons,
Kristian
Who says you’re not good? Don’t put yourself down, you’ve bared your soul on canvas.
I’m not sure what my passions are yet but I’m trying to discount them. 🙂
