Cheddar

The traditional cheese: Name your favorite classic novel.

I am rubbish at favorites! I have so many, and I like so many different genres, I’m across the board. Here are the ones off the top of my head

Wuthering Heights – Emily Bronte

A Tale of Two Cities – Charles Dickens

A Christmas Carol – Charles Dickens

Little Women –  Louisa May Alcott

Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen

To Kill A Mockingbird – Harper Lee

Swiss

The hole-y cheese: Name an emotional roller coaster.

The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. I think this is my favorite book by him. I don’t want to give away spoilers in case any of you have not read it, but it’s a typical Nicholas Spark book, lots of ups and downs, however; it doesn’t end like a typical Nicholas Sparks book. I think that’s why I like it so much! I just watched the movie last night, it was also fantastic!

Blue Cheese

The controversial cheese: Name an unpopular book opinion you have.

I don’t like trickery i.e., you read almost an entire novel and get attached to the characters only to find out the whole thing was a dream. I don’t mind plot twist, but be creative, and trick me early on…there’s so many other ways to keep your readers hanging on. Just my opinion.

The favorite cheese: Name an author you always want more of.

oh…..so many! Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, Ian McEwan, Stephen King, Nicholas Sparks, John Grisham, etc…

The Dutch cheese: Name a book that makes you want to travel.

Any book that takes place in England, Italy, or by the Ocean. So a lot!

The fake cheese: Name your least favorite book / a book you love to hate on.

Eragon by Christopher Poalini. I don’t mind if I can tell a certain novel, movie, scene…etc was used as inspiration, I think all writers do that, but don’t make it so blatantly obvious. I just feel like I was reading another Lord of the Rings novel, only not as well written and with dragons incorporated.

I don’t think you should judge any book by its cover, but I will go with Catcher in The Rye… I feel like you can’t really tell what the book is about just by looking at the cover…not that that’s a bad thing, but I always have loved an essence of mystery!
