As I have posted before I know I have been MIA lately, so I am catching up on this Challenge. I have decided not to do a challenge for the month of October, other than this weekly one that I have been doing since February. Here are weeks 35-37
Week 35: Your Neighborhood.
I live in a very small, quaint, little neighborhood called Deer Park. If you look at the back of a Deer Park water bottle, you will see that a list of the places Deer Park water is from, & it will say “and sometimes Oakland, MD.” The bottling plant is not far from my home, and that is where Deer Park water originated. The best thing is that the delicious Deer Park spring water that you drink out of the bottle, is the same water that flows through my faucet..how awesome is that?! I am very fortunate to live where I do. It’s remote, quiet, and I have beautiful views.
Week 36: Your home
The home I live in is the first house I owned with my husband! It’s a cute little starter house, but it’s a little small for my liking. It works for us right now though, and I have an emotional attachment to it, since it’s the house that belonged to my grandmother. Our goal is to eventually knock this house down and build a new one further back on our land. The house will not structurally last us for the rest of our lives, so our goal is to start building the new house in 10 years! I am excited, it will be here before you know it!! 🙂 I love our little house though. I have added mine & Neil’s personal touches to it, and it may be small, but it’s ours!
Week 37: Something you created.
I think my favorite thing that I’ve created (other than cookies & cupcakes) is a Notre Dame lamp shade that I made a few years ago for Neil. The shade faded over time, and it was hard to make out the pictures. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of it, but I will say that I was most proud of that lampshade. It’s something I would have bought at a store if I had seen it! I also love the numerous wreaths & homemade ornaments that I have created. I have made far too many to share them all with you, so I will share my latest creation…Halloween cards!!
What about you? Do you enjoy your neighborhood? Tell me about your home? What are some of your favorite creations?
Love & life lessons,
Kristian

That pic of the leaves in your neighborhood is really beautiful. I love my new neighborhood. It is so quiet, and there are a lot of trees. Most haven’t changed yet, though.

Thanks! It’s our peak right now. Last week was Garrett County’s annual Autumn Glory festival. It’s a big to do, but autumn is so pretty here in the Appalachians!
